About us

Our story began in the Garage Door Industry in 1988 when Ian worked for a company who brought the first domestic roller doors into Ireland when this company closed in 1994 Ian moved onto pastures new but still wanted to go back into the garage door business so we did a feasibility study to see if we could set up our own business it showed a lot of promise so we decided to run with it.

In June 1996 SAS Garage Doors was created as a sole trader business being ran from our family home with a landline, mobile phone and tons of brochures. We wanted to be different and stand out from our competition and our main objective was and still is to make customers not sales, so we sat and asked what would we and most people need, we felt it was someone at the end of the phone who was pleasant, friendly, informative, with a listening ear, flexible and willing to go the extra to fulfill each customer’s needs, flexible quotation times to facilitate people not available during the 9-5 workday and choice of products as the saying goes “different strokes for different folks” so our range is vast and caters to all tastes.

Our journey brought us increasing business each year leading us to purchase our first unit in Kildare and become the largest stockists of garage doors in Ireland we also became the sole distributor of Cardale doors who at the time were the biggest manufacturers in the UK, sadly a bad decision to take over Henderson garage doors pushed Cardale & Henderson\’s into liquidation under the BRP Group in the UK. We then had to source new products and doors which brought us on to bigger and better goods.

As time went on we found that a lot of customers were asking if they could see doors that were fit and as names and addresses cannot be given out we decided that what was needed was a showroom where customers could visit and see doors up close and working rather that pictures in a brochure and so we purchased our existing unit in Southcity Tallaght in 2005 where we have our showroom which is viewable strictly by appointment with flexible hours.

We are now at a very exciting time in the business in February 2019 after 23 years Sole trading we became a Ltd company and were joined by our 3 sons who are a new generation bringing a fresh youthful approach with plans to expand going into the future so we are all looking forward to the coming years and watching Sasgarage Door\’s grow to an even more successful company.
